The second room hosts a big miniature railway, with beautiful models recreated with amazing precision. The little trains travel along the track on several lines, going in and coming out of several tunnels, stopping at stations. The star is the newly launched EA 60 locomotive, but the DAs are also very nice, they even have lights.

Train Fest 2009 at Cluj-Napoca Train Station - Part 1

A special event is being held between the 12th and 13th of December at the train station in Cluj-Napoca: Train Fest 2009. Organized by the Trainsylvania Railway Club, it is a wonderful display of miniature trains, an important event for all railroad modeling fans.

The exhibition takes place in two large rooms. In the first room one can see lots of miniature locomotives exhibited behind glass windows. As expected, there are several beautiful Romanian (CFR) locomotives, but also foreign ones. Enthusiasts can find even some very nice detailed replicas of once famous Romanian steam locomotives like the CFR 150.1114 or CFR 150.1105, but also models of DA 60, LDH 80, EA 60 or Desiro locomotives, which are still used by CFR.
